Soul Midwifery

Both the acts of birthing and dying are very similar.  There are pains of birthing, and there are sometimes pains of leaving the body during the death process.

During child birth a midwife will assist the mother bring her baby into this world.  A Soul Midwife assists the dying person to be birthed into the next realm of his/her return journey.  On each side of the threshold of life comming into form and life leaving form, midwives are needed to guide this passage safely, and honourably.  The  preparation a mother has before she gives birth, is also valuable for death. 

The Soul Midwife gently "holds the space", and keeps vigil, and when the moment occurs as the delicate thread of light passes through the veils, she too journeys as far as she is able, safely birthing the soul, delivering the soul to his or her rightful place "home".

Before, during and after transition, there is a sacred stillness which bathes all who are present.  A portal is opened between worlds, this indeed is holy, allowing us to feel and be a part of something vast and great, where the presence of the miraculous and mysterious can be felt within us. This is truely a priveledge to behold.

The after care of the body temple is also very important for a Soul Midwife.  Offering gentle and dignified care the body temple is tended to.  The Soul Midwife will make any environment a sacred space according to the wishes of the person, this may be in hospital, a nursing home, hospice, or their own home. 

It is vital to bring this wisdom back into the family, and thus back into the community where support, love and companionship can floursish.  Every one who has tended the dying, or assisted in holding the space for someone who was dying, is already a Soul Midwife, for we inherently hold this wisdom deep within our cellular makeup and our ancestral lineage. We do not forget those who have had the role of Soul Midwife flung upon them, in war, and natural disaster for example, where there has been little chance to prepare, care for or tend to the dying. 

We each hold the Wisdom, and the Wisdom is being called forth now as we enter a profound shift in our awareness and our ability to be Present, right here, right now on this beautiful planet.  Our gathering together, triggers deeper memories and a deeper knowing, we each spark each others memory, when we fall into the slumber of forgetfulness.  For you who are reading this, there is no one like you in the universe, no one can do what you have been designed to do.  For all that you may have done, it is done, but for all you are capable of doing, is awaiting the unfolding, awaiting you to birth your "Presence".
